Theodore Hirschall Jackson III is the Professor of Technomancy and Applied Magic at the Alma Aleron Wizarding School, and the head of the school's Werewolf house. He is also a three-star general in the Salem-Dirgus Free Militia. During James Potter's first year at Hogwarts, he was one of the American staff from Alma Aleron who came as part of a school-exchange program. James mistakenly believed Jackson was part of the Merlin conspiracy, alongside the Progressive Element. However, he soon learns of his innocence and good intentions.
At the end of the school year, he gives James a green wooden box, containing a note he left for him, and the voodoo doll replica of James himself.
